ABAC Forest Lakes Golf Club holds new clubhouse ribbon cutting

TIFTON, Ga. – Tifton community members and golf enthusiasts joined ABAC for the grand opening of its new clubhouse.

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College celebrated the grand opening of the ABAC Forest Lakes Golf Clubhouse with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

After breaking ground in June of 2023, the new clubhouse is now ready for community use.

“In 2008 we were given the property from the Moorman family and we had the original clubhouse here and we wanted to be able to really kind of envision what we could do for the community and really move forward with a new clubhouse and a new cart barn. And, what an exciting day. It wasn’t that long ago when we were here for the groundbreaking ceremony, and today we were here for the ribbon cutting. So, it’s been many years in the making so that they were able to see it come to fruition and to be able to have a golf tournament here to kick this day off and to see so many different supporters from the community come out and be here and show their support. And, just to see people from the college, from the neighborhood, from, you know, the Chamber, everybody was here showing their support,” said Dr. Tracy Brundage, President, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Attendees had the opportunity to tour the new clubhouse and participate in a golf tournament to break in the newly enhanced facility.

Dr. Tracy Brundage, President of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, highlights the contributions the new clubhouse brings to the community.

“I just think that this is going to attract many more people that maybe didn’t even know before, because I do think that, you know, when you look at the facility and you look at the course, it’s just such a serene place. It’s open to the public. It really allows everybody from the community to kind of come here and participate and take advantage of this tremendous asset that we have,” said Dr. Brundage.

Dr. Brundage and the ABAC team express their gratitude for the community’s support and reaffirm their commitment to serving them.

“And, we’re just so incredibly grateful. And look forward to serving the community and our students and, you know, the college, and all of our partners here. For many, many years to come. So, it’s just a really exciting day for ABAC,” said Dr. Brundage.
