East Albany Apostolic Church to hold food giveaway

(ALBANY, GA) – An Albany-area church is getting set for their annual food and supplies giveaway at the end of July.

The First Apostolic Church of Albany is holding their food donation program at the Albany Civic Center on July 30th.

This year, in addition to food, the church will providing hygiene products as well as books for children.

The organizer for the church, Gwendolyn Thomas, tells us how badly an event like this is needed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thomas tells us, “There are so many people in our community who have lost jobs, are not able to go back to work. Particularly in our elderly population, who don’t have family support to go out and get them meals.”

Registration will be from 12 P.M. to 5 P.M. on Saturday, July 25th. Boxes of food will not be limited based on residence. You can call to register at (706) 992-8356
