MOULTRIE, Ga. — The Moultrie Fire Department is getting some extra help thanks to a large donation.

Moultrie Fire announced Tuesday that they had received a donation from a business called Invisible Fence through their Project Breathe program.

Through the program, each station of the fire department received a small, medium, and large oxygen mask with the purpose of reviving victims pets if they suffer from smoke inhalation.

Moultrie Fire’s Dawn Blanton tells us what it means to have an opportunity to save people’s pets from a fire.

Blanton tells us, “Well, pets are family too. For a lot of us, they are our family. So to us, saving them is just as important as saving a child is to a lot of people. It’s very important…”

Blanton says she was moved to reach out for Project Breathe after watching a firefighter try to revive a puppy with a makeshift oxygen mask.
