Moultrie’s triple homicide arrest
Eldriquez Silas faces two counts of murder and a single charge of feticide

MOULTRIE, GA – The GBI announces an arrest in the murders of Charles Butt and Ja’Mya McIntosh that occurred at the Art Center Apartments on March 18, 2022 at approximately 7:00 am.
19 year old Eldriquez Silas was arrested and charged Friday on two counts of malice murder, two counts of felony murder, home invasion, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and a single count of feticide.
Agents and Crime scene specialists responded to begin working with Moultrie Police on the investigation. Butt and McIntosh were both found shot to death inside the apartment where they resided. McIntosh was dating a relative of Butt and living in the apartment with another person. It was also determined that McIntosh was pregnant with a child at the time of her murder. Tragically, the baby died as a result of McIntosh’s death.
During the investigation, Agents and Moultrie Police identified the suspect as someone who had been known to have recently visited the apartment where Butt and McIntosh lived. As a result of the investigation through additional interviews and evidence collected, Silas was arrested on Friday afternoon, March 25, 2022 in Moultrie, Georgia and has been charged with the following criminal counts:
Two Counts of Malice Murder, Two Counts of Felony Murder, One Count of Home Invasion, One Count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and One Count of Feticide.
After his arrest, Silas was booked into the Colquitt County Jail on the above charges. Colquitt County Sheriff’s Deputies and members of the Moultrie – Colquitt County Drug Enforcement Team assisted GBI Agents and Moultrie Police with this investigation. Once the case file is completed, it will be provided to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
