Two arrested in Stop & Shop burglaries; one additional suspect pending
Dougherty County, Ga — The Dougherty County Police Department’s Crime Suppression Team arrested two individuals early this morning in connection with two burglaries at Stop and Shop, located at 700 Cordele Road.
The business was burglarized on Feb. 1 and again at approximately 4:05 a.m. today. During the most recent incident, lottery tickets were stolen from the store.
Investigators quickly developed leads and located two suspects attempting to cash in the stolen lottery tickets. Quenton Moore and Marshayni Lennear were taken into custody without incident.
One additional suspect has been identified and is expected to be taken into custody soon. Investigators are also reviewing evidence to determine whether this group may be connected to other recent crimes in the area.
These arrests were made possible through the use of the Flock Safety camera system and extensive surveillance efforts conducted by the Crime Suppression Team.
“This is another example of how technology, combined with proactive police work, helps us quickly identify and apprehend individuals responsible for crimes in our community,” said a department spokesperson.
The investigation remains active. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
Anyone with information related to these incidents is encouraged to contact the Dougherty County Police Department at 229-430-6600 or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
