“Tighten Up” at 7th Annual John Myron Coffee Memorial Workout at Coffee High School weight room

DOUGLAS, Ga. – The Coffee County community is coming together this weekend to honor the life and legacy of John Myron Coffee during the 7th Annual JMC Memorial Workout, happening Saturday, February 21, at 9 a.m. in the Coffee High School weight room.

The annual workout is held in memory of John Myron Coffee, a proud Coffee Trojan who wore number 63 on the football field and was known for his strength, kindness, and passion for helping others. Organizers say the event reflects John Myron’s spirit, challenging but encouraging, focused on community, and centered around his reminder to always “Tighten Up.”

The workout is open to the entire community, with modified versions available so participants of all fitness levels can take part. Athletes can compete individually or in teams of two, and all registered participants will receive a T-shirt. Coffee High Trojans also have the opportunity to compete for a $1,000 scholarship toward a sports program of their choice.

Registration fees include $60 for teams of two, $30 for individuals, and $50 for Coffee High School students, with a T-shirt-only option available for $25. Teams may be male, female, or male & female, and participants are asked to include T-shirt sizes when registering.

All proceeds from the event benefit the JMC Memorial Foundation, which continues John Myron’s legacy of service and community support.

Those interested in participating, purchasing a shirt, or learning more can contact Katy Lott at 912-381-5158, Ashleigh Hulett at 912-310-8308, or Amanda Coffee at 912-381-4448. Donations are also accepted via Venmo @JMCmemorialfund or Cash App $ABelleCoffee.
