The Camellia Garden Tour showcases Valdosta’s historic blooms this Sunday
VALDOSTA, Ga. – If you’re looking to slow down and soak in some natural beauty, a special garden tour is blooming in Valdosta this weekend. The Camellia Garden Tour takes place Sunday, February 15, from 2 to 5 p.m., inviting the public to explore some of the city’s most beautiful and historic Camellia Gardens at the peak of camellia season.
The tour begins at 2 p.m. at the Wisenbaker-Wells-Roberts House, Valdosta’s oldest home, located at 206 Wells Street. From there, guests will travel to several stops along the Georgia Grown Camellia Trail, including the Lowndes County Historic Courthouse, The Crescent, Sarah Oliver Garden, and the Jewel Whitehead Garden on Valdosta State University’s main campus.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see hundreds of camellia varieties, many of them tagged, while learning about Valdosta’s long-standing camellia legacy. Organizers say the tour highlights the history, stories, and locally cultivated selections that have helped shape the community for generations.
The Camellia Garden Tour is free and open to the public, and no registration is required. Guests are encouraged to simply show up, follow the route, and enjoy the blooms.
