Dougherty County CASA to host Awareness Day inviting community to wearing red in support of children in Foster Care
ALBANY, Ga. – Community members are invited to wear red and show their support for children in foster care this week as Dougherty County CASA hosts a special CASA Awareness Day event.
CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, will hold the event on Thursday, January 22, at 11:30 a.m. at the Government Building. The gathering will include a proclamation signing and is part of a statewide effort to raise awareness about the challenges faced by children in foster care and the critical role CASA volunteers play in advocating for their best interests.
Organizers say the event is a chance for the community to learn more about CASA’s mission, show solidarity by wearing red, and help spread the word about the need for trained advocates who serve as a voice for children navigating the court system.
Those interested in learning more or getting involved can contact Dougherty County CASA at 229-573-7027 or email info@doughertycountycasa.org.
