Phoebe recognizes health system’s first Chief Medical Officer as she celebrates retirement
ALBANY, Ga. – On Tuesday, The Phoebe Putney Health System (PPHS) held a reception honoring Chief Medical Officer Dr. Dianna Grant for her retirement.
“Today, we recognized Dr. Dianna Grant as she celebrated her retirement. Dr. Grant joined Phoebe in 2020 as the first Chief Medical Officer for our health system. For many years, Dr. Grant practiced as a family medicine physician before focusing on executive leadership. She helped us develop a system approach to community health and data analytics and led our efforts to expand and enhance our graduate medical education offerings and community outreach. Her steadfast dedication to enhancing the health and well-being of the people of southwest Georgia will have a meaningful impact for years to come. We appreciate Dr. Grant’s service and congratulate her on her well-deserved retirement.”
Dr. Dianna Grant served as Chief Medical Officer for several prominent healthcare organizations before taking on that role for Phoebe Putney Health System. Prior to joining Phoebe, she served at Next Level Health Partners, a Medicaid Managed Health Plan for patients across the Chicago area.
Dr. Grant has a long history and experience in creating cultures centered on safety. Her expertise in community health and data analytics has helped Phoebe expand access to care and improve the health of communities across southwest Georgia. Additionally, she is a strong advocate for Phoebe’s employed and independent physicians and provides strong leadership for the medical staff across all of Phoebe hospitals.
A native of Mississippi, Dr. Grant earned her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University and served as Chief Resident at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She also completed courses of study at Harvard University, Northwestern University, and the University of California. She practiced as a family medicine physician for 27 years before transitioning to executive leadership.
