Americus Police investigating shooting after midnight on New Year’s

AMERICUS, Ga. – On January 1, 2026 at 12:49 AM, officers of the Americus Police Department were dispatched to a report of a person shot at a residence in the 100 block of Bronco Drive in Americus. On arrival officers found a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds. The officers rendered emergency first aid until EMS personnel arrived. The victim, Kadarrius Rashawn Davis, age 32 of Americus, was transported to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
