Stop n Shop armed robbery suspect taken into custody

ALBANY, GA – December 7, 2025 – The Dougherty County Police Department (DCPD) is pleased to announce that the suspect in this afternoon’s armed robbery has been apprehended.

Lamarcus Antino Dunson, 49, the individual identified in connection with the armed robbery at the Stop n Shop (2201 Liberty Expressway), was located and taken into custody without incident by law enforcement personnel.

Details of the Arrest

* Location of Arrest: Dunson was found and arrested inside a residence located just inside Mitchell County, Georgia.

* Time of Arrest: Late this afternoon

* Cooperation: The arrest was peaceful and conducted without incident.

Custody and Charges

Mr. Dunson is currently being held at the Mitchell County Jail. He will subsequently be transferred to the Dougherty County Jail to face charges related to the armed robbery of the Stop n Shop.

Additionally, investigators have confirmed that Mr. Dunson is wanted on several outstanding charges in Coffee County, Georgia. These charges will also be addressed through the appropriate legal channels.
