Coffee Co. man taken into custody after armed barricade incident

COFFEE COUNTY, GA – On the evening of December 1, 2025 Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the area of Kingwood Road in reference to a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival it became clear that the incident was a domestic situation that had escalated beyond control.

47-year-old Lucio David Osornio arrived at the residence armed with two pistols and was actively making terroristic threats. Deputies immediately evacuated the occupants of the home and learned that Osornio had barricaded himself inside a bathroom. Additional support was requested from the D.I.C.E. Unit, the Douglas Coffee Drug Unit, Criminal Investigation Division and the Georgia State Patrol.

As the situation continued to unfold Sheriff Fred Cole and members of the Command Staff arrived on scene and began negotiations with Osornio. After a brief standoff Deputies were able to safely take Osornio into custody using non lethal techniques. He was transported to Coffee Regional Medical Center for medical evaluation and later taken to the Coffee County Jail.

Osornio has been charged with First Degree Burglary, First Degree Home Invasion, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Terroristic Threats and Acts and Possession of a Firearm During Certain Crimes.
