Celebrate 200 Years of Lowndes County at the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting
VALDOSTA, Ga. – After the Thanksgiving leftovers are packed away, families can head downtown for some holiday cheer at the Lowndes County Christmas Tree Lighting. The event takes place tomorrow, Friday, November 28, at 6 p.m. on the lawn of the historic Lowndes County Courthouse, located at 100 East Central Avenue in Valdosta.
This year’s celebration is extra special, honoring 200 years of Lowndes County. Attendees can enjoy hot chocolate, live music from Lowndes High School’s Viking Cantors, and a visit from Santa Claus. Organizers say it’s the perfect way to kick off the holiday season while celebrating community, tradition, and two centuries of local pride.
Families are encouraged to bundle up, bring their loved ones, and help light up the holidays in the heart of Valdosta.
