South Georgia communities give thanks to those who serve on Thanksgiving
ALBANY, Ga. – Across South Georgia, this Thanksgiving is marked by a deep sense of gratitude for the people who make our communities stronger. Volunteers throughout the region are spending the holiday preparing meals, delivering food, and checking in on neighbors who may need a little extra support this season.
While many families gather at home, first responders are continuing their essential work. Firefighters, EMS crews, law enforcement officers, and hospital staff remain on duty throughout the day, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents across the region.
Thanksgiving is also an opportunity to recognize the farmers who keep South Georgia’s agricultural backbone strong. From produce growers in Tifton to peanut, pecan, and poultry producers across Sumter, Colquitt, and Worth counties, these hardworking men and women play a vital role in feeding communities near and far.
To the volunteers, first responders, farmers, and the communities who support them, thank you for everything you do to make South Georgia such a special place.
Happy Thanksgiving!
