Albany Police Department to host their Annual Gun Buyback Event
ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Police Department (APD) is inviting the community to participate in their “It’s My Neighborhood. It’s My Community. It’s My City.” Annual Gun Buyback Event this Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place in the parking lot of the Albany Civic Center at 100 W. Oglethorpe Boulevard.
Residents can safely turn in firearms, no questions asked, and receive a $100 gift card for each firearm. The process is completely anonymous, and officers will safely remove the firearm from your vehicle. Firearms must be unloaded and placed in the trunk or back seat, and participants are asked to remain in their vehicles at all times. Walk-ups will not be permitted.
In addition to firearms, community members can also drop off unwanted medications at the same location. This annual initiative is a simple but meaningful way to help promote safety and reduce the risk of firearms in the community.
