Bainbridge man arrested and charged in connection to child molestation case

BAINBRIDGE, Ga. – November 3, 2025: On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, about 1:26 p.m., the GBI was requested by Bainbridge Public Safety to assist in a child molestation investigation involving a juvenile teenage victim.

During the investigation, it was determined that the victim was known to the alleged offender. David Clayton Kelly, 42, was arrested at a Wingate Road, Bainbridge, Georgia address. Kelly has been charged with 2 counts of child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and aggravated sexual battery. The alleged offenses occurred between March 2024 and October 2025 in Decatur County, Georgia. The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office also assisted GBI and Bainbridge Public Safety in the arrest of Kelly.

This case is active and ongoing and anyone with information on this case is asked to call the GBI Thomasville Office at 229-225-4090. Once complete, it will be turned over to the South Georgia Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
