Tifton hosts free food safety workshop for families
TIFTON, Ga. – Families in Tifton can learn how to protect their food, water, and kitchens during emergencies at a free hands-on workshop called SAFE: Strengthening Awareness for Food Safety Emergencies. The workshop is designed to teach practical steps to take before, during, and after a storm to keep your household safe.
The event will be held on Tuesday, November 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Anthony G. Bateman Youth Center, located at 511 West 17th Street in Tifton.
Registration is free but required, and the first 10 participants to sign up will receive a complimentary emergency kit valued at $40, including sanitizer supplies, water purifying tablets, and a fridge thermometer.
