Colquitt Co. Sheriff’s Office’s Jail ’n Bail Fundraiser to benefit United Way of Colquitt County
MOULTRIE, Ga. – The United Way of Colquitt County and the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office are bringing back one of the community’s most entertaining fundraisers, the annual Jail ’n Bail, happening Friday, October 24, at the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office.
Here’s how it works: for a $25 donation, you can issue a “warrant” to have a friend, coworker, or family member “arrested.” Once “locked up,” participants must raise at least $100 in bail to secure their release, with every dollar going toward United Way programs that strengthen education, health, and financial stability across Colquitt County.
The fundraiser will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., giving plenty of time for friendly arrests, laughter, and community spirit. Warrants can be submitted online through Thursday, October 23, or in person on the day of the event. Participants can also choose whether to reveal who had them “arrested,” although finding out may cost a playful $10 “snitch fee.”
Organizers say the event is meant to bring smiles while making a real impact for local families.
