Southwell to host multiple breast cancer awareness events throughout October

TIFTON, Ga.This Saturday, October 4th, Tifton residents are invited to “Pink Out Loud”, a special breast cancer awareness and wellness event hosted by Southwell. The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon at Northside Baptist Church. The first 200 attendees will receive a free t-shirt and swag bag.

Guests can enjoy brunch, mocktails, vendors, a photo booth, and fun activities throughout the morning. At 11 a.m., Southwell physicians will lead a panel discussion on essential breast cancer screenings, and survivors will be honored during the event.

[10-1-25] – Southwell will host a series of breast cancer awareness events in October to highlight the importance of early detection, education and support for women across South Georgia.

The events will include Pink Out Loud in Tifton, Girl’s Night Out in Adel, free mammogram opportunities for eligible women and a Lunch and Learn with Dr. Andrew Nackashi, general surgeon and Breast Program director at Southwell.

“Raising awareness, lowering risk and connecting our communities are at the heart of everything we do,” said Liza Tillman, Southwell’s public relations director. “Our October events are designed not only to educate and screen but also to bring women together in a fun, uplifting environment where they feel seen, supported and empowered.”

Pink Out Loud will take place Oct. 4 at Northside Baptist Church Family Life Center in Tifton from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.. Guests can expect brunch, chair massages, door prizes and a panel discussion with medical experts on breast cancer screening and prevention. The first 200 attendees will receive a complimentary T-shirt and swag bag.

On Oct. 21, Southwell Medical in Adel will host Girl’s Night Out, which will feature extended hours for mammogram appointments, refreshments, door prizes, pop-up shops and a free candle-pouring class for the first 50 participants. The event runs from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Southwell will also offer a limited amount of free mammograms throughout October for uninsured women ages 40 and older who meet certain eligibility requirements.

The month’s activities will conclude with a Lunch and Learn with Dr. Andrew Nackashi on Oct. 23 at 12 p.m. at the Wiregrass Ben Hill-Irwin Campus in Fitzgerald. Nackashi will speak about the lifesaving importance of mammograms, family history and advanced screening options.

“October is more than just Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” Tillman said. “It’s an opportunity for our community to come together to educate, support and take concrete action toward early detection.”

Tillman said she hopes the events will encourage more women to prioritize their health. “Events like these not only provide valuable screenings and information, but they also foster community, confidence and hope,” she said.
