Pearson city clerk accused of financial misconduct, theft, other charges out on $150,000 bond
PEARSON, Ga. – Former Pearson city clerk Patricia Ballard who is accused of financial misconduct, theft, and other charges has been released on $150,000 bond.
Ballard faces the following felony charges:
· Conspiracy to Commit a Crime
· Conspiracy to Defraud State or Political Subdivision
· Theft by Taking
· Offenses Involving Public Records, Documents, and Other Items
· Violation of Oath by a Public Officer
· False Statements and Writings
Ballard is not to have direct or indirect contact with anyone who works at Pearson City Hall or to return to City Hall property.
Ballard is required to give proper notice to new city clerk of any changes to address, phone numbers, etc.
A grand jury is scheduled for October 6th.
Karen Alexanders has been named as Interim City Clerk.
