Suspect in custody after possible threat at Brooks Co. Middle School Thursday

BROOKS Co., Ga. – The Brooks County School System has released the following statement following reports of a possible threat at Brooks County Middle School on Thursday.

School officials confirmed no threat occurred during school hours and students and staff were never in danger.

The school system stated that parents, staff, and students would immediately be notified if a threat were made during school hours.

“We feel that a clarification is necessary pertaining to the announcement about a threat today at Brooks County Middle School. Our Police Department was made aware of the situation during the after school hours. There was no active threat during regular school hours. The officers acted quickly and within a short time the suspect was in custody. If an active threat occurs during school hours, notification will be made as soon as possible.” – Brooks County School System
