Albany Technical College announces leadership changes in women’s basketball and wellness initiatives

ALBANY, Ga. – Albany Technical College announces two significant leadership updates that reflect the college’s commitment to both student athletics and overall wellness.

After an impressive tenure as Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Kenneth Williams is stepping down from his coaching role following a record-breaking 20-9 season and earning the GCAA Coach of the Year honor. Williams has served as head coach since the program’s inception in 2009–2010, amassing over 200 wins and guiding countless student-athletes toward degree completion and advancement to four-year colleges. He will now focus on expanding athletic programs and enhancing the student experience in his role as Student Life and Athletic Director.

“Coaching the Lady Titans has been one of the greatest honors of my career,” said Williams. “As we continue to grow our athletic offerings, my focus is on building a strong student life foundation and creating more opportunities for students both on and off the court.”

Taking over as Interim Head Women’s Basketball Coach for the 2025–2026 season is LaTisha Williams, a proud Albany/Newton native with more than a decade of experience in player development, recruiting, and coaching. Williams has been part of the Lady Titans’ coaching staff since 2017, serving as Associate Head Coach for the 2024–2025 season. She is a former Albany Tech standout and Albany State University graduate, recognized for her leadership, mentorship, and commitment to academic and athletic excellence.

“I am excited to lead this program and continue building on the success and culture we’ve established,” said LaTisha Williams. “Our goal is to develop well-rounded student-athletes who succeed both in the classroom and on the court.”

In addition to her coaching role, LaTisha Williams has also been appointed as Wellness Center Coordinator, a position dedicated to promoting student health, fitness, and overall well-being. This dual role underscores Albany Tech’s holistic approach to supporting student success through athletics and wellness initiatives.
