Phoebe Sumter, Morehouse School of Medicine and other partners team up once again to host Prostate Awareness Event on Sept. 27th
AMERICUS, Ga. – In recognition of September being Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Phoebe is proud to partner once again with the Morehouse School of Medicine and other partners for another Free Hens & Haircuts Event in Americus (the first of these events was held last November at Union Tabernacle Baptist Church).
There will be free hens and haircuts for all men age 40 and above, and the prostate screening will be done via blood draw. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in men, and approximately 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. Prostate cancer is most treatable when it’s detected early, that’s why screening is so important.
The event will be hosted by Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, in partnership with Americus Holiness Deliverance Temple and Union Tabernacle Baptist Church. The location will be Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, located at 411 Cotton Avenue, Americus, GA 31709, from 10 am to Noon.
