City of Tifton celebrates two completed CHIP grant home rehabilitation projects with bell ringing

TIFTON, Ga. – The City of Tifton is celebrating two home rehabilitation projects completed through the Community Home Investment Program (CHIP) grant.

City leaders held bell-ringing ceremonies for the homes of Betty Pitts and Celestine Williams, which received upgrades like new roofs, HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing work, kitchen and bathroom renovations, and more. CHIP grant funds help eligible low-to-moderate income homeowners repair and improve their homes. Tifton has now completed three projects and has one more in progress.

The city is accepting applications for 2025 funds, totaling $500,000.00. To learn more or to see if you qualify, call 229-928-5779.
