Keep Tift Beautiful invites volunteers to help beautify Tifton in Community Gardening Day

August 15, 2025
Matthew Crumley,

TIFTON, Ga. – Keep Tift Beautiful is calling on residents to roll up their sleeves and take part in Community Gardening Day this Saturday, from 8 to 10 A.M., at the Community Garden located at 1415 North Central Avenue.

This event is part of the group’s ongoing efforts to prepare for Community Pledge Day in October, an initiative tied to the Great American Cleanup in partnership with Keep America Beautiful. The goal is to showcase Tifton’s commitment to being clean, green, and beautiful as part of America’s 250th Celebration. Volunteers will help with a variety of projects, including sprucing up the garden, preparing planting beds, and working on a new shade structure.

Keep Tift Beautiful is a City/County Citizen Advisory Board dedicated to preserving and improving the quality of life in the Tifton area through litter clean-ups, recycling, community gardening, and beautification projects. If you can’t make it this Saturday, there will be more volunteer opportunities in August, September, and October as preparations continue for Community Pledge Day. To sign up as a volunteer, or to register a group, email keeptiftbeautiful@gmail.com or call (806) 781-6819.
