UGA Southwest Georgia Research and Education Center to host annual Field Day
PLAINS, GA – Local growers, ag professionals, and researchers are invited to attend the Southwest Georgia Research and Education Center’s annual Field Day, scheduled for Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
Held at 108 Experiment Station Road in Plains, this event offers a hands-on look at cutting-edge research and best practices in agriculture, with a strong focus on row crop production this year.
Registration opens at 8:30 A.M., and the guided tour begins at 9:00 A.M. Participants will get the chance to walk the fields, ask questions, and hear directly from UGA researchers and extension specialists about what’s working, what’s new, and what’s ahead in agriculture.
The field day is an important annual tradition that allows producers to connect with experts, learn about ongoing trials, and explore innovative techniques in crop pest management. Pesticide credits will also be available for eligible attendees.
Lunch will be provided, and while the event is free, organizers ask that all attendees please RSVP in advance.
To RSVP or request more information, contact Scott Rogers at (229) 591-5158 or email swgeorgia@uga.edu.
This event is hosted by the Dougherty County UGA Cooperative Extension & 4-H in collaboration with the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
