Camilla Police Department to host free women’s firearms safety course

August 8, 2025
Matthew Crumley,

CAMILLA, Ga. – The Camilla Police Department is offering a free women’s firearms safety course on Saturday, September 20th at 9 a.m.

The course includes both classroom instruction and live fire training at the department’s firing range. There are only 20 spots available, so even though the course is over a month away, you’ll want to register early. Registration is first come, first served and must be completed in person at the Camilla Police Department.

Bring a valid I.D., but do not bring your firearm. Instead, write down your weapon’s make, model, caliber, and serial number to turn in at sign-up. Each participant must bring their own weapon and ammunition to the range, and all firearms must pass inspection before use. For more information, call 229-336-2201 and ask for Assistant Chief Casterline or Investigator Chason.
