Family to offer reward in Dooly Co. fatal hit and run

DOOLY Co., Ga. – Family of Richard Alan “Rad” Dykes to Announce Reward at Press Conference

The family of Richard Alan “Rad” Dykes will hold a press conference to announce a $12,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual responsible for his death.

The Victim’s family is offering $10,000.00, and the Macon Regional Crimestoppers office is offering an additional $2,000.00 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible or involved in this case.

Mr. Dykes was working as part of a guardrail repair crew in the emergency lane of I-75 Southbound near mile marker 109 in Dooly County on Tuesday, June 17, 2025,
around 6:00 AM, when he was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. The vehicle involved is believed to have been a tractor-trailer. The driver did not stop and has not yet been identified.

With the assistance of Macon Regional Crimestoppers, the Dykes family is asking the public for help in locating the driver and vehicle involved in this tragic incident.
