Albany Tech Leadership Welcomes New Albany State University President at Community Reception
ALBANY, Ga. – Albany Technical College President Dr. Emmett Griswold and Board of Directors Chair Kenneth Dyer joined local leaders and community members on Wednesday, May 21, to warmly welcome Dr. Robert Scott, the newly appointed president of Albany State University. The reception, hosted by the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce and the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission, was held at The Candy Room in downtown Albany.
Dr. Griswold and Mr. Dyer expressed their support and enthusiasm for Dr. Scott’s leadership and the continued collaboration between Albany Tech and Albany State in advancing education and economic development in Southwest Georgia.
“This is a meaningful moment for higher education in our region,” said Dr. Griswold. “We are proud to welcome Dr. Scott to the Albany community and look forward to working together to expand opportunities for students and families.”
The event offered a valuable opportunity for regional stakeholders—including education, business, and civic leaders—to meet Dr. Scott and celebrate the beginning of his presidency at ASU.
