Dougherty County Public Works Environmental Control Division Begins Mosquito Control Spraying
ALBANY, Ga. – The Dougherty County Public Works Environmental Control Division began spraying today on adult mosquitoes and applying larvicides across the county to help control mosquito populations.
Officials are asking residents to be patient as crews work their way through the county. Every area will be covered, but timing may vary based on weather conditions and scheduling.
“We appreciate the community’s understanding as we work to protect public health and control mosquito populations,” said Chuck Mathis, Public Works Director. “Our crews are working diligently to reach every neighborhood.”
Residents with questions or concerns about mosquito control operations are encouraged to contact the Dougherty County Public Works Department at (229) 430-6120.
Under the direction of the Public Works Director, the Environmental Control Division is responsible for applying pesticides for adult mosquitoes, larvicides in water-holding areas, and herbicides to rights-of way and canals. The division also maintains mowing operations for weeds and grasses located on rights-of-way, canals and holding ponds throughout Dougherty County.
