GBI requested by Pelham Police to assist in drive-by shooting investigation, 2 arrested in connection with this case

PELHAM, Ga. – On Saturday, April 19, 2025, about 9:40 p.m., the GBI was requested to assist in a drive-by shooting investigation where two known victims were struck by gunfire from a passing vehicle, two more were shot at. All the victims were juveniles. The victims were located on Welch Street near the roadway between two separate duplexes of buildings 211 and 217 of a Pelham, Mitchell County, Georgia address.

An agent and crime scene specialist responded to assist Pelham Police with the processing of the scene and to begin an investigation. Evidence was collected from the scene and agents and investigators began conducting interviews with witnesses and victims. One victim was treated at a local hospital and later released while the other victim was treated at the scene and released with a minor injury. All evidence collected will be analyzed for any investigative value. A 16-year-old and a 15-year -old have been arrested and charged with 4 counts of aggravated assault, 4 counts of a drive-by shooting and one count possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in connection with the shooting incident.

Once complete, it will be turned over to Juvenile Court and possibly the South Georgia Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
