Tift Co. High School hires three new head coaches for Blue Devils

TIFTON, Ga. – Tift County High School (TCHS) is shaking things up on the sidelines, announcing the hiring of three new Head Coaches for the Blue Devils.

Charles Burkett is set to lead the Boys Basketball Team, effective May 1st. Burkett brings over 20 years of experience, including a 432 and 190 career record, and a State Championship in 2015 with Hoover High School in Alabama.

Britt Wilson will take over as the new Varsity Boys Wrestling Head Coach. Wilson has 14 years of coaching experience, including his time as the Head Coach for Tift County Middle School’s Wrestling Program, where he led the Blue Devils to multiple State Championships.

Last, but certainly not least, is Erica Gann, who will be the new Head Coach for Competitive Cheer. After spending time as a Varsity Assistant and Head Coach at Irwin County High School, the Tift County alum would return to the Blue Devils in 2023, volunteering with the Middle School Sideline Cheer Team and serving as Assistant Coach for the JV Football Cheer Team.

Looking forward to seeing what all three coaches do for the Blue Devils in 2025 and beyond!
