Pelham High School’s Empowering Students Through Music and Financial Literacy in Georgia

PELHAM, Ga. – Students at Pelham High School kicked off the week with a high-energy concert that doubled as a crash course in personal finance.

Americana Artist Carter Hulsey brought his unique blend of music and money lessons to the school Monday morning as part of the “Funding the Future” tour. The nonprofit uses live performances to teach teens how to make smart financial decisions, covering everything from saving to budgeting and credit.

The tour continues Tuesday with a stop at Crisp County High School, and after a few more stops, wraps up locally on Friday at Jeff Davis High School in Hazlehurst.

The Georgia Secretary of State’s Office is sponsoring the events, with Secretary Brad Raffensperger calling the program a powerful way to prepare students for real-life financial decisions.

“Funding the Future” has reached nearly 300,000 students across the country, and now, they’re making an impact right here in south Georgia.
