25th Annual National Grits Festival in Warwick this Saturday
WARWICK, Ga. – This Saturday, April 12th, Warwick is hosting the 25th annual National Grits Festival, a celebration of southern culture and culinary delight.
Activities kick off bright and early at 7:30 am with the Grits Cook-Off. Entrants are invited to deliver their grits-based dishes to the community center, where they’ll compete for cash prizes and the coveted title of Grits Champion.
From 7:30 to 9:00 am, the Warwick Lions Club will host a hearty festival breakfast featuring Striplings Sausage. For a $7 donation, attendees can fuel up for the day’s events while supporting a great cause.
The festivities continue with a lively parade at 10:00 am, followed by a series of engaging contests throughout the day, including the Grits Eating Contest, Grits Toss, and the Grits Pit.
Live entertainment will feature performances by the Empire Dancers, Makinsey, and the Gospel Travelers at the gazebo.
Admission and parking are free, making it an affordable outing for the whole family.
