36th Annual Dogwood Antique Show and Sale kicks off this weekend in Leslie

LESLIE, Ga. – The 36th Annual Dogwood Antique Show and Sale kicks off this weekend, bringing a treasure trove of unique finds to South Georgia.

Gabe Hutton takes us there.

For more than three decades, the Dogwood Antique Show has been a must-visit event for collectors and history enthusiasts.

As the largest antique show in South Georgia, it offers a diverse selection of items from vendors across the southeast. Shoppers can browse a wide selection of rare and unique items, many of which can’t be found anywhere else.

“You can expect dealers from all over the southeast, some from South Carolina, some Georgia, some from Florida. And, you can expect to find a lot of silver, jewelry, furniture, and just a lot of different items,” said Jolie Ledger, Chairman, Dogwood Antique Show and Sale.

The event kicked off today, but there’s still plenty of time to explore. Doors will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from Noon to 4 p.m.

For antique lovers, it’s more than just shopping – it’s about history and craftsmanship that stand the test of time.

“I mean it’s the workmanship now a days. That workmanship is gone. The quality and handcraftsmanship. Even in the monogramming it was all hand made monograms. That’s almost a lost art anymore. So, it comes as tradition. Some people lived here and even people who moved away from the area. Still come back to Leslie for the show,” said J.R. Angevine, Vendor, Dogwood Antique Show and Sale.

The 36th Annual Dogwood Antique Show is held at the Leslie Civic Center, where visitors can also enjoy highly recommended local food and desserts.
