SGTC Americus campus partners with DCS to host job fair
AMERICUS, Ga. – South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Americus campus partnered with Department of Community Supervision (DCS) to host over 45 employer booths, offering a wide range of job opportunities.
The event wasn’t limited to students. DCS also supports justice-impacted individuals as they transition into new careers, providing a second chance.
With so many employers gathered in one place, job seekers had a rare opportunity to explore multiple career options under one roof.
“There are a lot of job seekers with limited transportation. It’s valuable to us and to the employers. That we have it in one central location and I can’t think of a better location than the beautiful campus of Southern Georgia Technical College (SGTC),” said Cynthia Carter, Director of Career Services.
There was a wide range of opportunities, from welding and daycare work to becoming a referee for GHSA.
No matter what field you were interested in, the job fair offered something for everyone.
“Well I found a lot of them I want to do, but I can’t do all of them at once. But, there’s anything in there. From hands-on to learning it’s there,” said Tatelin Wright, SGTC student.
South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) plans to host another job fair in the fall. Keep an eye on their social media for updates if you’re interested in attending.
