City of Albany Operation Safe Place to Offer Warming Center

ALBANY, Ga. — On Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., the City of Albany will activate Operation Safe Place to provide people with a warm place to stay overnight.

According to the current forecast, freezing temperatures are expected overnight beginning on the 16th through Friday the 21st.

The City will open the Albany Transit Center at 300 W. Oglethorpe Boulevard on Sunday, February 16, Monday, February 17, Tuesday, February 18, Wednesday, February 19, Thursday, February 20, and Friday, February 21. Each day, the warming center will be available from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following day. The Transit Center will be open to the public for the start of business at 7 a.m.
