Cordele Fire Dept. achieves ISO’s Public Protection Classification Program Class 2 rating

CORDELE, Ga. – Cordele Fire Chief Todd Alligood announced today that the Cordele Fire Department has been upgraded to a Class 2 fire department…

For being an overall great department and firefighters with a great response time.

First responders are often expected to perform at their best, but their hard work is rarely recognized. However, with its recent upgrade to a Class 2 rating, the Cordele Fire Department is being acknowledged for its exceptional service.

The department’s evaluation covered several key areas, including manpower, trucks and equipment, response time, emergency mitigation, training, community risk reduction, and public safety education – factors that are crucial not only to the department but to the entire Cordele community.

This upgrade follows the department’s recent 5-year evaluation by the Insurance Services Office.

Chief Todd Alligood explained, “ISO’s Public Protection Classification Program (PPC) plays an instrumental role in the underwriting process for insurance companies.”

He also acknowledged the efforts of the Cordele Water Department, which was evaluated on water supply and delivery, and the number of hydrants. Additionally, Crisp County E911 was assessed on-call takers, dispatch times, the information provided, and overall support.

“This is a true team effort and achievement,” Alligood said.

Being a Class 2 department means the City of Cordele receives top-tier service from its first responders.
