First Free Will Baptist Church hosts Halloween trunk-or-treat event

ALBANY, Ga. – On Wednesday, First Free Will Baptist Church hosted a Halloween trunk-or-treat event to celebrate the holiday.

The church has put on the event for over 20 years, and it had a variety of things for kids and families to enjoy like bounce houses, games, free food, and even horse rides.

Kids also came dressed in spooky and adorable costumes.

The turnout was greater than expected as well having over 500 people.

We spoke to the church’s Pastor, David Postlewaite, about the success of the event.

“So, yeah, we’ve done this for several years in a row. But, this year’s event, we put it out on Facebook. But, man, we’ve got inflatables here for the kids. Different types of games as well, like ax throwing and basketball shooting, that are inflatable games. We’ve got horseback rides. I mean, who doesn’t want a horseback ride? And, then, of course, we’ve got a lot of food. I think that’s probably why a lot of people came. We got Kona Ice, tacos, and then kettle corn as well. So, a good fall festival to eat there. And, then afterwards, we’re giving candy out, this is one of the highlights of our year. It really is. We enjoy doing something for the community, and giving back. Of course, that’s what the Christian faith is all about. We have a Savior who gave so much to us. That’s what we want to do, is we want to give back to the community as he has loved us. We want to show that same love,” said David Postlewaite, Senior Pastor.
