School closures extended due to Helene

ALBANY, Ga. – Our thoughts are with many of you as we continue to recover following Helene’s aftermath.

There are a few school closures through Friday, October the 4th:

Atkinson (through October 18th), Ben Hill, Brooks, Berrien, Cook, Coffee, Lanier, Lowndes and Valdosta City Schools.

Irwin will be closed through Wednesday, and Tift will be closed through Tuesday.

Colquitt, Worth, and Turner have re-opened as of today.

We will have extensive coverage beginning with our evening newscasts in the hardest-hit areas.
