Curfews:
The following is a list of curfews or shelter-in-place orders:
- Americus: 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Dougherty County and the City of Albany
- 7 p.m. Thursday until 7 a.m. Friday for all residents within Dougherty County and the City of Albany
Exceptions: Emergency responders, medical personnel, and essential workers traveling
to or from work. - Dougherty Emergency Operations Center (EOC) opened. If you have any storm related questions call (229) 302-1900. Refrain from calling 911 unless it is a dire emergency.
- 7 p.m. Thursday until 7 a.m. Friday for all residents within Dougherty County and the City of Albany

Civic Organizations/Businesses:
- City of Albany, all offices, closed Thursday & Friday
- On Thursday, September 26, and Friday, September 27, 2024, The City of Albany administrative offices will be closed ahead of potentially severe weather. Departments will be available remotely to assist with any customer service needs. The Emergency Operations Center (EOC), 311, and Emergency and Essential Services will be fully operational on Thursday and Friday.
- Albany Transit and Garbage Service will be operating as usual on Thursday. Transit services will resume at 8:15 a.m. on Friday unless road conditions are too severe. Friday’s Garbage Pickup will take place on Saturday as long as conditions permit. There will be no Municipal Court on Friday.
- The Emergency Management Agency will continue to monitor the situation and the City, in partnership with the County, will continue to provide updates as we learn more.

- Dougherty County Judicial Building

All individuals selected for jury duty on Friday, September 27, 2024, do not need to report to the Dougherty County Judicial Building. The building will be closed due to the weather threat from Hurricane Helene.

- Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB Albany) will close its Johnson Road and truck gates at 1 p.m. and release all personnel early Thursday, Sept. 26.
- The Veterans Affairs Clinic, Naval Branch Health Clinic, Navy Federal Credit Union, Marine Corps Exchange and the Commissary will be closed during the same times.
- We will resume operations with Mission Essential personnel only, Friday, Sept. 27. All other employees will be placed on maximum telework or weather and safety leave.
