Camilla Police respond to shots fired
CAMILLA, Ga. – On September 3, 2024, at approximately 12:49 a.m., the Camilla Police Department responded to a residence on Robinson Street, Camilla, Georgia, in reference to shots fired.
Camilla Police officers arrived on scene and noticed that there were a quantity of shell casings in the roadway where shots were reported to have been fired.
Camilla Police officers made contact with a resident to which they were informed that a minimum of five to seven shots were heard from inside the residence. Responding officers confirmed that at least two projectiles entered the residence and struck a television and that two additional projectiles were fired through the front door.
Camilla Police officers did make contact with three other occupants of the residence that were in fact awake when the shots were heard. The three other occupants stated that they heard anywhere from five to seven shots being fired from outside the residence.
Camilla Police officers located approximately three bullet holes in each of the two vehicles parked at the residence on Robinson Street, Camilla, Georgia.
Camilla Police did recover approximately twenty spent shell casings that have already been sent off to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) for processing.
