Phoebe Sumter’s Healthy Sumter & Innovative Senior Solutions Farm Fresh produce giveaway

AMERICUS, Ga. – Over the weekend Innovative Senior Solutions held a fresh produce giveaway in Sumter county.

With the help of Flint River Fresh and Phoebe Sumter, more than 300 produce boxes were given away.

Each box contained fresh fruits and vegetables, which included an onion, bag of apples, and delicious grapes.

In addition, vendor’s information were provided and the Americus Fire Department prepared a free lunch.

People also didn’t even have to leave their car. As the Sumter County Basketball Team loaded up their vehicles for them.

“So, we’ve had people say that this is how they get their fresh vegetables, and their fresh fruit is through giveaways like this. And, so, we wanted to be a part of that. To increase that in our community to make sure that we address any food desires and any food needs. Yeah. So, this being like this helps the community. Like I say, it addresses a need. And, we are a part of the community, and we want to let our community know that we support them, that we are here, to be a support and also to provide a service that is needed for all individuals because it’s going to hit every household,” said Eshonda Blue, Jessica Wright, Innovative Senior Solutions.
