Lee County High School Trojans new softball field ribbon cutting

LEESBURG, Ga. – In more exciting developments, Lee County High School held a ribbon cutting for their brand new softball field.

The Trojans’ softball and baseball coaches collaborated with architects on the design after reviewing several fields.

Head softball coach Dwayne Suggs mentioned that the school system didn’t hesitate to provide the best for its students.

The event featured staff members and coaches getting to speak and look at this state of the art field…

There was plenty of entertainment as well, with the Lee County Band energizing the crowd through various performances and a standout rendition of the National Anthem by a Lee county student.

Ultimately, we’re told that the new field aims to enhance the athletes’ performance.

“It’s just great. There’s kind of a trend. You know, most high schools are going in this direction these days and stuff. And, you know, our school system really supports us, and they want us to be in touch with what everybody else has and our school system really comes through for us. They just, you know, give the girls what they feel that they need as everybody else needs around in our system. I mean, they just look at the colors out here and the stripes, the lines and they’re just in awe about how great it looks and stuff. I think it really hasn’t set in about how long this field is going to, you know, it’s going to be here and not how to maintain it day in and day out and not have to get out and rake around the bases and stuff like that. But, they just love it. They love really like I say, the striping, all the colors of it. They just say it’s beautiful all the time,” said Dwayne Suggs, Lady Trojans Head Coach.

The ceremony clearly inspired the softball team, as the Lady Trojans went on to win their game right after the ceremony…
