Coroner identifies body discovered by city employee
ALBANY, Ga. – In other local developments, a body was found in Albany today around 8:40 a.m., in the 500 block of Flint Avenue near The Cottages apartments.
The individual discovered was a black male, 66-years-old, identified as Jevore Smitty.
Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler gave an off-camera update on the investigation, noting that while the man had existing medical conditions, all potential causes are still being considered.
The cause of death is still under investigation, and the identity of the deceased is being withheld as the family has not yet been notified.
