T-Trak at the Tracks model train showcase at Cordele Rail Museum this weekend
CORDELE, Ga. – Rail fans, Get ready! The Cordele Rail Museum is hosting “T-Trak at the Tracks” this weekend.
Immerse yourself in the world of N Scale Model Trains, renowned for their precision and detail in one of the smallest scales available.
Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned enthusiast, these high-quality trains and accessories are perfect for any model train setup.
We spoke with Bruce Arbo and Todd Tait about this third annual event and what visitors can expect on Saturday.
“It’s a T-Trak concept, which is a modular concept where each individual or club or group builds their own little modules to an international standard. And, then, when we get together as a larger group, the modules just plug into each other and form a much larger layout. Model railroading has a lot of different sizes of trains. The scale we’re using today is N-Scale, the second most popular scale in the world and the size of the engines and rolling stock are one 1/60 the scale of the real one. So for example, it would take 160 of our locomotives placed end to end to form the length of an actual sized one. So, they’re pretty small,” said Bruce Arbo, Coastal Alabama T-Trak Club.
“We have people here from Daphne, Alabama, Pensacola area, Albany, Tennessee, Cumming, Jacksonville, Macon. So, there’s a group of us coming from all over to set this up,” said Todd Tait, GS&F T-Trak.
“And, these are all built to the same national international standard where they have leveling feet so that we can adjust them up and down. And, they also have wiring on the larger modules so that you can connect them all together,” said Stuart Denniston, Pensacola Model Railroad Club.
“I’d like to thank Monica and Gail in downtown Cordele for allowing us to put on this event. We are open from 10 to 4 tomorrow. Come on in. Check it out,” said Tait.
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to see N Scale trains in action and learn from experts in the field!
The model trains will be on display from 10 am until 4 pm Saturday. You can visit the Cordele Rail Museum at 302 North 7th Avenue.
