Vienna Independence Day Bash

VIENNA, Ga. – The city of Vienna bring together friends, family, and visitors near and far to celebrate a day filled with patriotic pride and community support.

Vienna City Hall, adorned in patriotic red, white, and blue, buzzed with activity as residents gathered for the city’s Independence Day Bash.

“We had a young lady come on board as our new Community Development Director, and she came up with this idea and got with some of the citizens in town. Everybody loved the idea, and made some calls, it’s the very first one. But, it looks like it’s going to be every year now. So, with a new community director as bright as the one that we’ve got, it looks like a lot is starting right here and this is just the beginning, only the beginning,” said Eddie Daniels, Mayor, City of Vienna.

“So, the first thing we did is we talked to the Mayor and Council and the City Administrator, who got permission to do it. And, Caleb and I literally drove around the city of Vienna, handed out fliers, found our local vendors first, and invited them to come. And, then from there it just grew and grew,” said Carla Penney, Community Development Director, City of Vienna.

“It’s a great honor to meet your local city government. That plays a vital role. Making sure that we’re growing, as we all know, that economically, is a big part of our city, and we’re seeing that here today,” said Caleb Green, Youth Mayor & Community Development Intern, City of Vienna.

The city of Vienna offered musical entertainment, delicious treats, and a variety of fun activities for children and families to enjoy.

“So, we’ve got Dooly county family connections here, which is the family connection office here in Dooly county. So, she’s here. We also have the Air Evac Life Team. So, they are over giving out free raffles and also signing people up for their program. As far as local vendors, we’ve got the Dooly County High School band here,” said Penney.

“Absolutely. So, we do have shell seafood here. Which is one of our local vendors as well that come and support our community. We have Kona Ice here and a couple of local vendors. We have Mr. Sanders here, Mr. Pete Thomas, and a lot of other vendors here,” said Green.

However, the most crucial element is the strong community support.

“Everything that is going on in our country economically, with prices going up. We want to bring people out, bring out the vendors and support,” said Daniels.

“We are such a happy community in Vienna. If you want to do business here, you want to move here or you just want to come visit and tour our community, please do. As the community development director, one of my biggest goals to share is to get more people into downtown Vienna. Will be so happy to have all the tourists we can get,” said Penney.
