Former Sumter Co. Detention Center Officer surrenders, turns herself in
AMERICUS, Ga. – In other recent developments, on Thursday, former Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Officer Carrie Joiner surrendered herself at the Sumter County Law Enforcement Center.
Following a criminal and internal investigation, warrants were issued for improper sexual conduct and violation of oath of office.
Joiner’s employment with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office was terminated earlier this week. She has since been released on bond.
