Arrest made in residential burglary in Cordele
CORDELE, Ga. – Turning to developments in Cordele… At about 4:30 in the morning Tuesday, officers with the Cordele Police Department responded to a reported burglary in progress at the 500 block of North 2nd Street.
The caller informed dispatchers of two individuals seen attempting to enter a nearby residence through a window and trying to access a nearby vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers observed an open window and a fallen air conditioner, indicating a break-in. After entering the residence, the officers discovered two fifteen-year-old male juveniles hiding in a closet, equipped with large screwdrivers and a multitool. Notably, the homeowner was absent during the incident.
Both juveniles were charged with burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime. The Department of Juvenile Justice was contacted, directing the transportation of the juveniles to a youth detention facility in Savannah.
