Sylvester church deacon and business owner charged with child sex crimes
SYLVESTER, Ga. – In a shocking development, a South Georgia church deacon and businessman in Sylvester was arrested on Tuesday, facing child sex charges.
Jerry Heflin’s arrest stems from an offense occurring in 2016. He is charged with approximately 65 counts, including rape, felony aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, and sexual battery against a child under 16.
Heflin was transported and booked at the Worth County Jail, where he was denied bond.
